French Polynesia

The most famous island in the group is Tahiti. It is one of the most beautiful islands in the Pacific, with some of the most welcoming people. The cheaper and more rural island of Moorea is only half an hour away. Like in Tahiti there is snorkelling, diving, hiking, off-road driving and horseback riding.

The extraordinarily beautiful Bora Bora is a short flight away and specialises in luxury resorts. There are 130 islands in the group but most are very small and tourism is mostly limited to a handful of the larger ones. Crime on the islands is rare, and health care provision good.
