Turks and Caicos Islands

The Turks and Caicos Islands are a British territory near the Bahamas. They are overlooked as a tourist destination but are becoming increasingly popular. There are 8 main islands and 299 smaller ones. In the west, the town of Providenciales features the international airport and much of the tourist infrastructure, and is popular with retirees.

The uninhabited island of East Caicos is home to the ghost town of Jacksonville along with swamps and mangroves. The islands are exceptionally flat. There are fantastic beaches and diving opportunities throughout the islands along with all the luxuries of modern life. Most hotels are in Providenciales.
