Dominica is an island nation in the Caribbean famous for its pristine wilderness. High-impact tourism is discouraged. Morne Trois Pitons National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has some fantastic hiking trails, including one to Boiling Lake. There are many waterfalls and rivers. Champagne is a snorkelling spot where underwater steam vents emit a constant stream of bubbles. It is very easy to go whale and dolphin watching.

The twisting mountain roads mean that getting anywhere is a slow but nevertheless thrilling process. There are many small villages along the coast. It is located in the hurricane belt and has been hit numerous times.
