A remote and atmospheric land, Norway is synonymous with its dozens of remarkable fjords. The gulf stream keeps the whole country warmer than areas at similar latitude in both winter and summer. Svalbard hosts the world's most northerly commercial flight and is perfect for viewing the aurora borealis. The midnight sun can be seen there in summer, and in the northern parts of the mainland too.

The Lofoten Islands and their jagged peaks captivate visitors but much of the country is spectacularly beautiful by any standards. The Hurtigruten company runs a number of ferries which travel the length of the spectacular coastline.
