Croatia is famous for its beautiful coastline and islands, and the jewel of red-roofed Dubrovnik. It is regarded as one of the most architecturally beautiful towns on the Mediterranean, with numerous museums and churches. It is only minutes from both Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Sailing the Croatian coast is a popular summer pastime. For the clothing-optional brigade, there are 20 naturist resorts along it. There is little evidence in the country of the 4-year war that followed independence in 1991. Zagreb is a fun place to spend a couple of days, with some great bars. The best way to enter it is along the beautiful mountainous train trip from Slovenia.
