United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is made up of 7 emirates, 2 of which are hugely popular tourist destinations – Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Abu Dhabi boasts Ferrari world and is building new Guggenheim and Louvre museums, while Dubai has the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Fountain (the world's largest), The Burj al-Arab hotel and indoor skiing. Both emirates offer a huge array of watersports and desert safaris, along with prestigious golf courses.

Numerous mega-malls are another favourite way to pass the time, particularly if it gets too hot. The Dubai Mall is the world's largest, with over 1200 shops. Dubai is frequently visited on a stopover by travellers going from Europe to Asia/Australia.
