South Africa

The first thing most tourists associate with South Africa is Cape Town's Table Mountain, which stands over the city. Head north to the Kalahari Desert or go east to The Garden Route, a well-travelled road along the south coast which goes through some amazing coastal scenery. Violent crime and unemployment are serious problems in the cities.

There are a number of great parks in the country with Kruger in the north probably the most famous. The Drakensberg Mountains on the border with Lesotho are popular too. South Africa borders 6 other countries, and completely surrounds the mountain kingdom of Lesotho.
